$20,000 to CAMFED USA FOUNDATION, San Francisco, to fight poverty and AIDS in rural communities in Africa by educating girls.

$20,000 to CITY ARTS & LECTURES, San Francisco, to help underwrite the 25th anniversary season production of a special series in the winter and spring of 2006.

$25,000 to CRITICAL IMAGES, for production of a one-hour documentary film, Forget Me Not: The National AIDS Memorial, by filmmaker Andy Wilson, which tells the story of the creation of the National AIDS Memorial, its significance as a national memorial, and the individual stories it memorializes in the “turning of loss into life.”

$10,000 to the FRENCH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, San Francisco, to offer its students programs of study in French and English.

$15,000 to the GLOUCESTERSHIRE COMMUNITY THEATRE SOCIETY, Gloucestershire, U.K., for TaurusVoice, which works with speech, drama, movement, improvisation, and creative writing to enable people to find, explore, and develop their voice.

$6,000 to KIDS COMPANY, London, U.K., to help dispossessed urban children through artistic and sporting activities.

$30,000 to the LEAGUE TO SAVE LAKE TAHOE, South Lake Tahoe, Ca., for general support.

$6,000 to POP-UP THEATRE, London, U.K., one of the U.K.’s leading young people’s theatre companies with a local, national, and international touring program to theatres, arts centers, community venues, and schools.

$25,000 to the SAN FRANCISCO BALLET for general support of America’s first professional ballet company.

$39,000 to the SAN FRANCISCO BALLET for the Pinnacle Fund to increase the endowment for the San Francisco Ballet.

$25,000 to the SANTA FE OPERA, Santa Fe, N.M., for the American premiere production of Thomas Ades’ The Tempest, which will be a highight of the Santa Fe Opera’s fiftieth anniversary season.

$10,000 to the SIERRA FUND, Nevada City, Ca., to protect the land, air, and water resources of the Sierra Nevada.

$15,000 to SIERRA WATCH, Nevada City, Ca., to defend the natural resources and quality of life in the Sierra Nevada from sprawling development.
